How we use your information
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Who we are
Building & Construction Advisor Ltd ("BCA", "we", "us") is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16506745. Our registered office is Regent Hotel, Regent Square, Doncaster, England, DN1 2DS. We are responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us about privacy at hello@build-construct-advisor.co.uk.
How you contact us
At present, enquiries are made by email. Our "Email BCA about your project" page opens a pre-written email in your own email app, or lets you copy the template into webmail. The questions in that template are optional prompts to help you get started — none of them is mandatory, and you can leave any of them blank or simply describe your project in your own words.
Your enquiry, and anything you attach, travels from your own email account to our mailbox at hello@build-construct-advisor.co.uk. It is not entered into a form on this website and is not stored in a website database.
What information we may receive
- Your name and the contact details you choose to give us, such as email address, telephone or mobile number, and how you prefer to be contacted.
- The address or postcode of the property or project, if you give it.
- What you tell us about your building work, where you have got to, and any builder involved.
- Attachments you choose to send, such as quotations, drawings, specifications, contracts, invoices, correspondence and photographs or videos. These may include information about other people, such as your builder.
- Anything else you include in your email or later correspondence.
Please only send information that is relevant to your building project.
How we use it
- To read and respond to your enquiry and explain how we may be able to help.
- To provide any service you then ask us to carry out, such as a Builder Quotation Review.
- To keep a record of our communications and advice.
- To meet our legal, accounting, regulatory and insurance obligations.
Our lawful bases
- Steps before a contract, and contract — when you ask us about, or engage us for, a service.
- Legitimate interests — responding to general enquiries, keeping proper business records, and dealing with information about other people (such as builders) contained in documents you send, where this is necessary to understand your project.
- Legal obligation — keeping records we are required to keep, for example for tax and accounting.
We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not sell it.
Website hosting and technical logs
This website is hosted by our website platform provider. As with most websites, when you visit, the hosting infrastructure may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to deliver, secure and maintain the website. The website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share information with
We use Lovable to host this website and Hosting UK to provide our business email service. These providers process information on our behalf. We may also share information where you ask us to (for example with your builder), with our professional advisers or insurers, or where the law requires it.
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. We have not yet verified all relevant processing locations or international data-transfer arrangements. We therefore cannot confirm which safeguards apply to any such transfers. We are reviewing these arrangements with our providers.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to paid work: we intend to keep them for 12 months after our last meaningful contact with you, then delete them.
- Completed paid client files: we intend to keep them for 6 years after completion, subject to any longer period required by law, contract or insurance.
Deletion is carried out by us as part of our record management; it is not currently automated.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it, and in some cases to receive a copy in a portable format. Some rights depend on the circumstances. To make a request, email hello@build-construct-advisor.co.uk.
Information Commissioner's Office
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
